Law teachers demand regulatory body; flay age-bar policy to study law. Among other suggestions, drafted at the one-day conference held at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan on Saturday, were formation of regional law universities, study leave and research grants to law professors, academic and financial autonomy to colleges, mechanism for networking of leading law colleges among others.
The overarching end of law is justice and the institution of lawyers is a means to this end. Advocacy plays diverse roles in running the machinery of administration of justice. A lawyer leads the way from ignorance to knowledge in his multitudinal roles of an advisor, negotiator, draftsman and attorney. The advocate uses his expertise in the law to provide protection to the unlettered and the underprivileged. It is his duty to makes their cause .
